The original Marble Quarry sites -- 3.9 miles from Marble by jeep or foot. The Marble Quarry is a beautiful drive up the Yule Valley.

Lizard Lake -- said to be one of the most beautiful in the state, is thought to be the crater of an old volcano of unknown depth; stocked with trout, is 2 miles east of Marble by jeep or foot.

Crystal Mill site -- was built over the Crystal River in 1892 to generate compressed air. The mill is one of the most photographed spots in Colorado.

Crystal -- was founded in the 1880's and abandoned by 1900. Many buildings still stand including the historic Crystal Club. Crystal now boasts a hand full of summer residents; approximately 6 miles east of Marble.

Cleveholm Mansion -- was built in 1920 by millionaire, John C. Osgood, for his bride. This 42-room Tudor style manor house is still maintained. The house can be visited for tours.

Redstone -- is 13 miles and 20 minutes from Marble; now a designated historic site, this village of Victorian style homes was built by John C. Osgood in the 1880's as the "ideal community" for his coal workers. Presently a thriving artist's community and tourist town; home of the Redstone Inn, also built by Osgood and recently fully restored. The Inn is spearheading the development of cross-country skiing trails in the area.

Carbondale, Colorado - this is the closest small town that has the full amenities. The have many nice restaurants, as well as Grocery stores. Surrounded by breath taking mountains, this small town is larger than Marble, but still has the small town charm.
